BREWSTER — Being a locavore doesn’t always mean foraging the forest or getting grubby in the garden. It can be glamorous, too.

That’s the message from Chatham Bars Inn, which is offering gourmet alfresco dining at its farm on Main Street in Brewster on Wednesday evenings. Through Sept. 7, patrons can enjoy a four-course gourmet meal with wine for $200, and experience fine dining on home-grown food in an unforgettable setting.

The menu varies, but CBI Executive Chef Anthony Cole and his culinary team create dishes that highlight the farm’s seasonal offerings, using locally sourced meats and fish to complement the fresh-picked produce.

The dining experience is unique; sharing tables of six, patrons have the chance to make new friends, dining on a grassy knoll surrounded by vegetable gardens and twinkling outdoor lights. The meal begins at 5:30 p.m. each Wednesday evening through Sept. 7, and in case of rain, the dinner is postponed until Thursday night.
