Time For Electric Vehicles

Editor:

The following letter was sent to members of the Harwich Board of Selectmen and Energy Committee:

I would like to bring to your attention that after learning that the town will be replacing several of its vehicles at the town meeting, it seems to me this is the right time to start replacing them with electric ones.

The advantages are:

  • Gas savings. It would help to calculate the town gas budget of all vehicles. Moreover, there are practically no maintenance requirements.
  • It would aid the town to comply with its green community goals.
  • It would make the town greener. Jeff Bezos from Amazon is going electric with his truck flotilla, so why not Harwich also?

A Few Musings

Editor:

Oxford English Dictionary: Forest, an extensive tract of land covered with trees and underbrush. A few trees on a small piece of land is not a forest.
If you do not like living near an airport and you move near an airport, perhaps what you need is counseling.
