Brenda (Eldredge) Cummings

Brenda (Eldredge) Cummings, 76, of Franklin, N.H., gained her Angel wings on December 18, 2021.
Born and raised in Chatham, Brenda then lived most of her life in her beloved Hill, N.H., where she was a cook at Jennie D. Blake School 1979-83, and again, 1987-2001. She was the School Treasurer 1981-87, the Town Treasurer 1989-95, and served on the Hill Budget Committee 2000-02.
Brenda owned and operated Montgomery Wards in Franklin 1983-97, worked at Allstate Insurance 1997-2006, and was a cook at Franklin Regional Hospital from 2009-16, finally retiring in 2016.
Being a mother was one of the most important parts of Brenda’s life, and she was an excellent mom, supportive, kind, and hilarious. Her love for all children was evident as a softball coach, and spending many years responding to letters to Santa delivered to the Hill Post Office.  She was always ready to listen and offer advice if asked.
Her talents included cake decorating, including several wedding cakes. Brenda loved doing puzzles and the walls of her garage were covered with them. She loved gardening and had a very green thumb. She enjoyed hummingbirds and feeding her “chippy’s.”
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara and Desmond, and her brother, Barry.
Brenda is survived by her three daughters: Angie and husband, Harold; Valerie; and Cindy and husband, Jamie; her sister Barbara (Sis); her brother Bruce and wife, Elfriede; her grandchildren, David and wife, Emily; Cadi and husband, Forrest; Bree and her partner, Edgar; Kevin; Emily and her partner, Chris; and Winter; her great-grandchildren Teddy, Louie, Linc and Gemma; and her close friend, Dick.
The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.  She leaves behind a network of lifelong friends and extended family members near and far who all loved her greatly.
A celebration of life will be held at the Franklin Elks Club on Jan. 16th from 2-5 p.m.
