HARWICH - Maribel T. Johnson died December 27, 2021.  She was the daughter of Doris Dutcher Tucker and William Merrill Tucker of Belmont and Winchester respectively, and was born on January 17, 1933 in Arlington.
Maribel was raised in Westfield, N.J. and was happily a part of the continuously active graduate class of 1951.  She went on to attend and pursue an associate degree in Secretarial Science at Stetson University in DeLand, Fla.  It was a complete, happy college experience for her.  Between those two years on August 2, 1952, Maribel met her best friend and love, Harold “Harry” C. Johnson, Jr.  They were engaged on June 13, 1953, and married on April 17, 1954, a month after Harry got out of the army and was established in his career.  Maribel worked as a secretary for four years and stopped to become a full-time wife and eventually a mother.
They lived in Chatham, N.J. for almost 40 years.  There Maribel with Harry was actively involved with the children’s activities, church, friends, bridge, and travel.  In 1995 they moved to the Cape where their lives remained active with church, Newcomers, Conch, friends, travel (with the addition of Europe), bowling, bridge, concerts, and sporting events.
After 62 years of marriage, she was predeceased by her husband, Harry.  Maribel leaves behind her children, Judith; Carlton and his wife, Carolie; grandson, Christopher; her brother, Kenneth M. Tucker and his wife, Betty.
