HARWICH PORT – More than a dozen shops and businesses in the village will be joining together on Saturday to sponsor the first Harwich Port Merchants Fall Festival, featuring music, contests, craft sessions, face painting, raffles, specials and sidewalk sales.
With a hint of fall in the air, the festival will include a raft of seasonal activities from a pie baking contest at Reciprocity's Cross Street Studio to apple pie sundaes at Seagulls Ice Cream and Soda Fountain.
Merchants will be sponsoring a number of crafts projects. Bring a beach treasure to Lexaco and convert it into a shell necklace. At Below the Brine, kids can make their own fall book mark. Snow Goose will have hammer and stain pop-up crafts from noon to 4 p.m., and Eclectsia will be also sponsor a craft project.
The apple pie baking contest will take place at Reciprocity at Cross Street Studio and M.A. Designs. Music sponsored by Reciprocity will take place between noon and 3 p.m. Prizes for the pie baking contest will be provided by Reciprocity, Say It Sweetly, and Buoys on Main.
CapeAbilities' artisan market will feature produce, crafts for kids, and apple cider.
Port-O-Call will have a raffle for a hand-blown, hand-painted cranberry harvest ornament. Cranberry liquors will hold a raffle to benefit The Family Pantry, and will also be hosting a Little Beach Bakery pop-up shop.
Reed Books will host a book signing with Matt Fitzpatrick, author of “Demon Tide.”
Say It Sweetly will be doing face paintings. Cape Roots will host a tea tasting. A number of merchants will be holding raffles and having sales, including Murphy’s General Store and PrepstR. Buoys on Main will be offering a free gift with purchases while they last.
