Norman F. (Fred) Tansey

TANSEY, Norman F (Fred), 88, of Chatham, passed peacefully on 11-9-2020 after a long illness, at home with family at his side.
Born 1-4-1932 in Brooklyn, N.Y, son of the late Margarethe Amelie Paetzel, the late Eugene Tansey and stepson of the late Leslie Paetzel.
After graduating from high school in N.J., Fred served four years in the USN, serving during the Korean War. He was very proud to be a veteran.After moving to Chatham he was a self-employed electrician and electrical inspector until his retirement.
  Fred met his wife Nancy Nickerson Clark, a widow with three children, on North Beach, and would have celebrated their 50th anniversary on July 1, 2021. Fred leaves behind his beloved wife Nancy, their children Eugene Tansey (Kathleen), Howard Tansey, Steven Clark (Laurie), Sharon Clark Bunting and Wendy Homer (Barry). Also nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews and was a special Pop Pop to Carlyle Nash.
  Fred was a Free Mason, a member of the First Congregational Church of Chatham and a wonderful friend and helper to many.
  The family would like to extend their most sincere thanks to Broad Reach Hospice, who were there to support and comfort Fred and his family.
There will be no services at Fred’s request. If desired, donations may be made to Broad Reach Hospice, Chatham Fred’s memory.
