HARWICH – A COVID-19 testing clinic will be held at the community center next Tuesday, Aug. 4, for local restaurant workers after a recent increase in positive cases of the virus.

The clinic will be open only to food service workers from Harwich, Chatham, Orleans, Dennis, Brewster, Eastham and Wellfleet. Those wishing to attend must pre-register by noon Friday by calling their local health department.

The clinic is targeted to those who may have been exposed to COVID-19 in the last 10 days or were in close contact with someone who tested positive, according to Harwich Health Director Meggan Eldredge.

A similar testing clinic was held in Chatham Monday in the wake of a July 12 party in town that spawned a cluster of 13 positive COVID cases. Results from that clinic are not yet available, Health and Natural Resources Director Robert Duncanson said Thursday.
