St. Augustine, Fla - Mrs. Joan Elizabeth Ristuccia, 87, longtime resident of North Chatham, died January 2, 2020 after a long illness. She was the loving daughter of the late Joseph J. Mondino and Elizabeth E. Mondino (Moore). Born 1932 in Watertown and raised in Wellesley as an only child, Joan attended the Walnut Hill School, Wheaton College, and Framingham State College where she earned her teaching certificate in early elementary education, later teaching in Fort Lewis, Wash. and Framingham.
She enjoyed gardening and loved the outdoors, spending many days on the beaches of Cape Cod, and had a grand passion for reading. Joan is survived by her beloved husband John B. Ristuccia of St. Augustine, Fla. Joan and John celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Dec 21, 2019. Joan truly embraced her role as a loving wife and mother to her three children, Deborah Ann O’Neal (husband Michael O’Neal), Jodi Ann Kemos (deceased) and Beth Ann Massie (husband Col. Kevin Massie). Also survived by 7 grandchildren: Bradley J. Goodwin, Kristin Wadsworth (husband Andrew Wadsworth), James Kemos, Zakary Kemos (wife Thalia Kemos), Tara O’Neal, Ryan Massie, and Nathan Massie, as well as 2 great grandchildren: Jakson Wadsworth and Gianna Kemos.
