CHATHAM — After it faced criticism for not encouraging enough public participation in its update of the airport master plan, the airport commission has scheduled three special public meetings specifically to focus on parts of the plan.
In addition to the review of specific airport plan chapters during their regular public meetings, the committee is inviting citizens to attend three informal small-group sessions to be held in the small meeting room at the town offices annex on George Ryder Road. The meetings are scheduled for Feb. 26, March 5 and March 11 at 4:30 p.m. and aim “to gather public feedback and also offer explanations regarding the [plan update].”
Draft updates to the plan are available on the town website.
“The Commission is open to make further changes based on ideas brought forward by the public that are in keeping with the Airport Commission’s mission,” a meeting announcement reads.
