ORLEANS – Surf's up!
Surf films, that is.
The 2019 Orleans Surf Film Festival kicks off Friday with a slate of events celebrating surf culture. The two-day festival will be held at the Hog Island Brewery at 28 West Rd.
Celebrating the surf culture of Cape Cod, the festival includes a selection of surf-related films, including local shorts and features. As of late last week, a list of films was not yet available; daily schedules will be posted at the festival website, orleanssurffilmfest.com, once all films have been selected.
Doors open both Friday and Saturday, Oct. 19 and 20, at 5:30 p.m., with films beginning around 6:30 p.m. There will be several intermissions allowing time to explore a pop-up gallery of surf memorabilia and boards. Food and drink will also be available, and there will be raffles of board, skateboards, merchandise and other items.
For more information visit the festival website or find it on Facebook. The event is sponsored by the Orleans Chamber Foundation and benefits Nauset Regional High School scholarships.
