Katherine Victoria Braz

Katherine Victoria Braz, Katie, of Holly Ridge, N.C. formerly of Brockton died suddenly Monday, July 29th, 2019.  She was 42.

Katie is survived by her loving wife Claire Beshears formerly of Framingham, her parents Raymond and Judith Braz of Chatham, her brother Edward Braz, her sister-in-law Mandi Speakman and her nieces Bobbi and Maggie of Harwich as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Katie was a dedicated dog and kitty mom. She and Claire shared their home with a small pack of dogs as well as two cats. Katie grew up in Brockton, MA graduating from Cardinal Spellman High School in 1994. She attended Bridgewater State College graduating in 1999 with a BS in business.  Katie spent many years in retail sales as a store manager for several national brands. Katie enjoyed life to the fullest especially sharing time with friends and family. She made an impression the moment you met her and it lasted a lifetime. Katie was the life of any gathering and had recently attended the yearly family picnic in Swansea, much to the delight of her family and friends. A dedicated Kenny Chesney fan Katie attended every concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA among others. A rabid Boston sports fan Katie especially enjoyed following the New England Patriots, during their historic run, and the Boston Red Sox. Katie loved to create, she furnished the home she and Claire shared with many original pieces inspired by the beaches she loved so much. Her favorite places to enjoy the surf and sand were the beaches of Cape Cod, Topsail Island, N.C. and the USVI in the Caribbean. The lyrics of a Kenny Chesney song say it best, “Our circle of friends, we’re sad that your gone, we celebrate your life with stories and a song, somehow you will keep us strong.” Katie will be missed and loved forever.

A celebration of Katie’s life will be set for a later date.
