Lenore Marie Clark

Nov 19, 1922

Lenore (Lee) Marie Reimann Clark passed away on December 15, 2018 in Brewster.  Born in Mount Vernon, N.Y., she was the daughter of George and Ella Reimann, sister to Mary Agnes Whittle, Dorothy Wallace and Robert Reimann. She was educated at Good Council, White Plains, N.Y., graduating high school at the age of 16.  She moved to Boston where she attended the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing receiving her degree in 1944. She was commissioned as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army serving at Fort Dix in New Jersey. She married Francis (Frank) P. Clark on December 28, 1946.

From 1950 until 1983, Lee and Frank lived in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. She was active in many community organizations, worked as a nurse administrator at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Tarrytown, N.Y. and raised three children. They built a house on a pond in Harwich and retired there in 1983. Lee became a member of the Harwich Garden Club, played golf and traveled extensively.  She founded the Cape Cod Wild Flower Group and served as President of the Harwich Garden Club from 1990 to 1993. She walked each day, mostly in Chatham, spent time with friends and family, and swam at Buck’s pond in the summer.

Small in stature, she approached life with an uncommon outlook and a fiercely independent spirit. Whether working, volunteering or presiding over her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, she lived with energy, style and grace.
