Robert Astor Kuzoian, 97, formally of Chatham and Harwich Port passed away on Saturday, Nov. 24.
He was the beloved husband of the late Helen L Kuzoian who passed away on October 17, 2015. They were married for 72 years.
Robert was born in Providence, R.I. on June 3, 1921 to Stephen and Paris Kuzoian. He graduated from Cranston High School in 1939 and was accepted to Brown University but due to the Great Depression, fate has a way of changing one’s plans. He and his family moved to Hartford, Conn. where he was employed at Pratt & Whitney. He met his wife there and married her on October 2, 1943. Soon after, he was drafted into the US Army during WW II.
After serving in the army, he began his employment in NYC and settled his family in Darien, Conn. He was later transferred to the Hartford, Conn. office. He joined the Masonic Lodge in Newington, Conn. in 1958. Eventually he was appointed to the Gulistan Carpet office in Boston by J.P. Stevens Corp. He was in charge of all New England and Upstate New York for over 20 years. He retired in 1984 and enjoyed life living in Florida during the winters and Cape Cod in the summers, especially playing golf. One of his big thrills was to play golf at St. Andrews in Scotland.
He was predeceased by his two brothers, Stephen A Kuzoian and Richard Kuzoian and his sister in law Nancy Kuzoian.
He leaves behind his son, Ronald and wife Mary Ann of Palm Desert, Calif., his daughter, Betty Jane Kuzoian of Frederick, Md., his two granddaughters, Dawn Boyle (Patrick) of Attleboro, Jennifer Taylor (Andrew) of Millis and his four beloved great grandchildren, Jacob Boyle, Savanah Boyle, Wyatt Taylor and Wesley Taylor. He is also survived by his brother, Donald Kuzoian his wife Isabelle of Newington, Conn. and sister in law Elsie Kuzoian of Berlin, Conn. and many nieces and nephews.
Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date.
