HARWICH – The Cape Tech Crusaders started out strong Saturday but couldn't keep up the momentum, ultimately falling 28-6 to the Bellingham Blackhawks in non-playoff action.

Cape Tech senior Payton Walker hopped into the end zone from a yard out for a first-quarter touchdown to put the Crusaders up 6-0 early, but the visiting Blackhawks responded quickly with a touchdown of their own, followed by a successful two-point conversion to take an 8-6 lead heading into the second.

From then on things belonged to Bellingham as the Crusaders were forced to play a largely defensive game, with the Blackhawks scoring in each of the four quarters of the game en route to the 28-6 victory.

Tech saw solid play from seniors Juan Camilo and Trever Castillias, as well as Richardson Pierre.

The Crusaders travel to Bourne this Friday night (Nov. 9) to face the Canalmen in their next non-playoff game.
