Edward Crowell Collins passed away on January 28, 2018.
Ed was born in Hartford Connecticut on June 14, 1930 to Grace and Robert Collins. Ed is survived by his son William and his wife Susan, his son David and his partner Mary and his son Jay and his wife Jill.
Ed was a member of the United States Air Force for four years. He pursued his formal education at the University of Connecticut. Ed worked at the Perkin-Elmer Corporation writing reports for the large Space Telescope program, later known as the Hubble project. Ed served on the Town of Redding Connecticut Planning Commission for 11 years, six of those years as chairman. Ed pursued sailing in his younger days and he loved cats. After 30 years of service at Perkin-Elmer, Ed and Beverley purchased a home in Chatham. He was a member of The Chatham Watercolor group and wrote and sold his poetry book and paintings locally. Ed was a member of the First Congregational Church in Chatham.
