CHATHAM — As they’ve done for more than 70 years, non-resident taxpayers will have the chance to quiz town officials on major initiatives and share their opinions during the annual summer town meeting next Tuesday.
The session will happen Aug. 7 at 7 p.m. at the town hall annex on George Ryder Road, and will be led by Town Moderator William Litchfield. Summer residents’ advisory committee Chairman Colette Trailor will make some short remarks, followed by selectmen Chairman Dean Nicastro, Town Manager Jill Goldsmith and Finance Director Alix Heilala.
Coastal Resources Director Ted Keon will present an update on waterways and erosion, as well. Keon will speak about dredging proposals and some of the navigational challenges that boaters are facing this summer, as well as beach nourishment proposals.
Another popular part of the meeting is the “Chatham Scorecard,” a thumbnail assessment of the town’s finances.
Following the presentation, town department heads will be on hand to answer questions from citizens.
