H. Donald Lockhart
H. Donald Lockhart of Harwich Port, formerly Walpole, was born to eternal life July 13, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at the age of eighty-five. He was born on December 4, 1932 in Boston and grew up in Hyde Park. Don was a devoted husband, father and proud grandfather. Don and his wife Betsy were married in 1957 and recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.
Son of the late Harry and Ruth. He was the loving brother of David (Alberta), Carolyn Tintle, Ruth-Ann (Dennis) DeAngelis, Harry “Chipper” and Imelda (John) Barucci and brother in law Paul Walsh. Don is survived by his beloved wife Betsy. Together they had three children, Michael (Lisa), Donald (Maria) and Betsy (Pat) Casey and nine grandchildren, Connor, Michael, Kathleen, Sean, Lauren, Peter, Emma, Ryan and Brooklyn. He is predeceased by his sister Barbara Walsh and sister in law Elaine Lockhart. He had a special place in his heart for all his nieces and nephews.
Don went to Hyde Park High School, attended Boston College and then served in the Korean War. He had a successful career in the ophthalmic industry and after his retirement enjoyed selling real estate on a part-time basis. He loved spending time with family and friends in Harwich Port and Naples, Florida. Visitation will be Thursday, July 26 from 11:45-12:45 pm followed by a mass of Christian burial at 1:00 pm at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 246 Main Street, West Harwich, MA.
