Oct. 13, 1941 - Feb 3, 2018
Michael Peretz, 76, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Brewster and Orleans, passed away peacefully, at home after a courageous battle with liver cancer.
Michael was proudly born in the Bronx and raised in Yonkers, N.Y.
He leaves his loving and devoted wife of 34 years, Gloria, his daughter Jacqueline Peretz, son and daughter-in-law, Charles & Alyssa Peretz, step daughters, Amy Gray and Lisa Grossman, and his brother, Barry, of Scarsdale, N.Y.
Michael was a devoted grandfather to 7 wonderful grandchildren: Rachael & Daniel Holladay, Abigail, Emma and Ethan Peretz, Miles Ortmeyer and Alana Brader.
After graduating from Nichols College in Dudley, Michael developed a career that spanned decades in the Office Furniture industry in the New York Metro area. He was a consummate salesman and executive, known and respected by many in the industry.
In 2000, Michael and Gloria moved to Cape Cod and purchased Sundance Clothing in Chatham. There, Michael's natural salesmanship made the store popular and successful. In 2004, they added Savvy on Main, in Orleans, to their company and continued making customers well- dressed and welcome. In each store, they were joined by their beloved dogs, Lucky, and then Daisy, who always delighted the visitors to the stores.
Michael enjoyed anything and everything about cars, a good cigar out on the deck, and spending time with his many friends in Cape Cod and in Sarasota.
A graveside service was held in Sarasota, Fla. on Feb 6, 2018, where he was buried in the Temple Sinai Memorial Garden.
