Basketball season might have ended for most teams around the Cape and Islands, but the stars will have one more chance to shine come March 18 when the 2018 All-Star Games will be played.
Five players from area schools will compete as part of the Lower Cape girls team, including Avery Burns, Reagan Meehan, and Skyeler Sandison of Nauset, Maddie Leonard of Monomoy, and Latasha Miranda of Cape Cod Tech, with coach Noopy Texeira overseeing the team.
This season saw Burns, Meehan, and Sandison compete with the Warriors to a second place finish in the MIAA Div. 2 South Sectionals.
Representing the boys will be Monomoy's Isaiah Stafford, Eli Nickerson, and Nick Meehan, while Charlie Campbell and Bobby Joy will step up for Nauset, with Cathal Daly representing Cape Tech, which will be coached by Bob Catalini.
The girls game gets under way at 1:15 p.m. at the Hyannis Youth and Community Center, with the boys to follow at 3:30 p.m.
