Cape Cod Bulls Enjoy Winning Weekend

The Cape Cod Bulls ninth grade AAU basketball team is celebrating success after placing second in the Div. 3 State Championship recently.

The team, comprised of Zach Parker, Jason Ready, Dave Malone, Riley Varner, Joe DiMango, Aidan Melton, Bobby Joy, and Jackson Cote, coached by Bob Joy and Lou Parker, competed in a number of games off-Cape last weekend, defeating the Central Mass Thunder 59-46; the Mass Attack 62-48; ASA West 57-55; Evolution 53-51; and the Boston Blazers 65-41 before falling to the Dana Barrows Gladiators 53-43.

“They play hard, work well together, and pass the ball well,” said Parker. “They have good fundamentals and they just play smart basketball.”


Monomoy Softball Continues To Dominate

The Monomoy softball team improved to 11-2 overall and 6-0 in league play with their commanding 19-2 victory against Sturgis East on Tuesday. 

Pitcher Mollie Charest had six strikeouts on the mound and went 4-for-4 at the plate with a home run and four RBIs, while Emma thacher went 5-for-5 with one RBI. Teammate Eliza Hawthorne went 3-for-5 with four RBIs, and Karley marchese went 3-for-5 with two doubles. Sam Barr went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Hannah Potter went 2-for-4. 

The team travels to Barnstable tomorrow (Thursday) for a 4 p.m. game, with their next home game slated for May 18 against St. John Paul II, also with a 4 p.m. start at Potters Field.
