SOUTH YARMOUTH A little more time on the clock might have made the difference in the Monomoy boys lacrosse team's vacation week battle against the Dennis-Yarmouth Dolphins, who played to a 15-9 victory in South Yarmouth on Thursday.

After trailing significantly at the break, the Sharks seemed to regroup a bit in the game's second half, chipping away at the D-Y lead on goals from Connor Santoni and Elijah Beasley. Beasley had four goals in the game and Santoni had two with three assists, with the latter dominating faceoffs, winning nine.

Also adding to Monomoy's tally were Connor Deveau with one goal and two assists and Rory Carpenter and Peter Lucarelli, each with a goal and an assist.

Though the Sharks had 21 shots on goal, D-Y goaltender Matt Lane was a tough one to crack in his first stint in net, making 10 saves overall. Monomoy goalie Nick Malone had nine for the Sharks.

Monomoy's defense continued to improve, with Kyle Charlot, Tyler Crossen, Cole Currie, and Kyle Gabri each working hard to keep the ball in Shark possession, while offensively Santoni, Beasley, Carpenter, and Lucarelli worked with Brant Butcher, Liam Mawn, and Zac Donnelly to find the goal.
