The National Weather Service has hoisted a high wind warning for Cape Cod, reflecting the high winds expected from the most recent coastal storm expected to strike the region. The heavy winds were expected to continue through this evening, with intermittent bands of heavy snow sometimes creating white-out conditions.
Sunday afternoon, officials dropped the blizzard watch for the area in favor of a high wind warning. Forecasters now expect only one to three inches of snow to fall Monday, but say damaging winds could gust to 65 mph during the storm.
