Janice Lee Wilson
Janice Lee Wilson, 77, passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2016 at Brookdale Spruce Wood in Durham, N. H.
Born in Cedar Falls, Iowa, she was the daughter of Ralph W. and Helen (Bayne) Deppe. For 23 years she lived in Durham, and 15 years in Madbury before moving to Newmarket in 2004.
Janice graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a BA in 1987 and MA in English in 1991. She also received a Paralegal Certification in 1980.
As a local artist she was very involved in special projects with the UNH Art Gallery. Her diverse works included jewelry, weaving, and poetry. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, sailing and reading.
For the past 7 years, Janice shared a fulfilled and devoted relationship with Dr. John MacGiver, MD, of North Chatham. Their partnership endured until his death earlier this year.
Survivors include her two children, John A. Wilson II and his wife Rhonda of Purcellville, Va. and Sandra E. Griffin and her husband Russell of Rochester, N.H.; three grandchildren, Daryl and his wife Stephanie of Lakewood, Colo., Sarah and Hillary of Chicago, Ill.; a brother Mark Deppe of Calif. and a sister Carol Deppe of Ore.
There will be a celebration of life in the spring of 2017.
