Eight Mariners And Three Anglers Set To Shine In Annual All-Star Game

The Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game rosters are out, and the league-leading Harwich Mariners are dominating the East lineup, with eight players in total set to show their skills on July 23, along with three Chatham Anglers.

Harwich has four players in the starting lineup for the East, with pitcher BJ Myers to take the mound when the annual game begins on Saturday at 6:05 p.m. at Veterans Field in Chatham. Joining Myers will be teammates Ernie Clement at second base and Joe Dunand on third, with Pavin Smith stepping in as the designated hitter. Pitchers Packy Naughton, Peter Solomon, Zach Schellenger, and Shane McCarthy complete the octet.

Joining the fray for Chatham will be catcher Gunnar Troutwine and pitcher Isaac Mattson, with Patrick Mathis stepping into the Home Run Hitting Contest, which begins at 5 p.m.

The day begins at 2 p.m. when the gates officially open to the public, with the East Division All-Stars taking batting practice from 2 to2:40 p.m. East and West pitchers will sign autographs from 2:40 to 3:20 p.m., with East position players set to uncap their Sharpies from 4:15 to 4:55. The East warm-ups will take place from 3:40 to 4:10 p.m., followed by the West warm-ups, the Home Run contest, the pre-game ceremony, National Anthem, and the first pitch.
