Jean M. (Griffin) Jahnke, 84, passed away peacefully at her home in Harwich on Saturday, July 8th.
She was born and spent most of her life as a proud Abington resident. She graduated from Abington High School in 1949 and Simmons College in 1953. She was married to the man of her dreams and lived with him in the home they built together across from her parents and next door to her grandparents at the corner of Hancock and Rockland Streets with their two children.
She is survived by her husband and love of her life, Gunther H. Jahnke of Harwich, daughter Ellen J. Connors and husband Herbert of East Walpole, son Tom Jahnke of Harwich, sister Judy Perron and husband Jim-Bim Perron of Chatham, Gunther’s brother Harry and wife Sue of Wareham, niece Kathy Perron and husband Sam Cutler and grandniece Alice P. Cutler of Philadelphia, niece Christine Olsen and husband William and grandnieces Annalise and Caroline of Sandwich, niece Caitlin Jahnke and grandnephew Parker of Virginia and nephew Tom Perron and partner Sarah Gray of Arlington.
